The IPSA Research Committee 05 on Comparative Studies on Local Government and Politics and the Institute of Local Law and Government (UAM) are sponsoring this seminar on the evolving role of local governments in the present-day context.
The seminar provides a unique platform to delve into the intricate dynamics and multifaceted challenges local governments worldwide face. From the pressures of urbanisation and demographic shifts to the emergence of digital technologies and the imperative of sustainability, local authorities are navigating a complex terrain with opportunities and obstacles.
We invite you to contribute your valuable insights through papers on local government strategies in addressing their communities' diverse needs and aspirations. Different methodological research approaches are welcome, but comparative studies are much appreciated.
